The Antelope Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was established in 1997 as an organization dedicated to serve as a vehicle and bridge for Spanish-speaking business-owners to participate and assimilate into our American community.
With a vision of fostering and assisting new and existing businesses being impacted by the growth of the Hispanic populace, there was truly a great need for an organization that understood the economic power of the marketplace and promoted entrepreneurship and market-share for the untapped Hispanic market resource.
The Chamber was Founded by Salvador Tavera and Isaac D. Barcelona, the first and third presidents who, along with 16 other regional visionaries (Luis Cabrera; Angel Aramburu; Richard Loa; Elizabeth Wendt; Glenn Winkelstein; Maria Arroyo; Orlando Delgado; Nacho Castañeda; Samuel Roman; Federico Espinosa; Arturo Felix; Roy & Maggie Ramirez; Victor Vega; Maria Ramirez; & Jose Luis Flores) who shared a similar dream, championed economic prosperity for the entire business community while creating a mechanism that reached out to the Hispanic community’s specific issues and uniqueness.
Today, the Inaugural Board’s vision of providing a strong civic, professional, and representative political voice to the Hispanic Community in the Antelope Valley is alive, established and thriving.
AVHCC is one of the most dynamic economic, social, and community-oriented forces in the Antelope Valley and AVHCC has been reaching out beyond its region as illustrated by it being awarded the title of Chamber of the Year, Southern California Region 2010 by the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce!
